Mattresses Need Cleaning Too!
One-third of our life is spent sleeping. In bed is where we spend most of our time, meaning it's one of the most important things to clean. However, it needs to go deeper than just washing your bedding regularly.
Humans produce up to half a litre of sweat EACH NIGHT and shed about a gram of skin each day. Washing your nightgown and sheets will go a long way to helping keep your mattress clean, but it's not a fail-safe solution.
In your mattress you can find a multitude of things that you don't want to be sleeping with each night...dust mites and their feces, bacteria, sweat and more can all get deep into the fibers. It's estimated that there are up to two million dust mites in a mattress, and in an average pillow 10% of its weight is made up of dead skin cells and more dust mites. Any spills from breakfast in bed that don't get cleaned right away can get mildewey and mold spores can come into the house through open windows or on one's clothing. A buildup of spores, dust mites and skin cells can trigger a lot of allergic reactions too such as asthma, eczema, bronchitis and more.
